Nightingale is a Pre-Commercial Procurement Horizon 2020 project seeking to develop innovative wireless and wearable technology that can be integrated into a clinical decision support system. The project has received €5.3 million funding from the European Commission.
The Nightingale project team, made up of researchers from five leading academic hospitals in Europe, want to design wearable technology that can continuously monitor patients’ vital signs, including blood results and other clinical data, as well as ensuring early warning of actual deterioration in and out of hospital.
Once the design stage is complete the team will challenge industry to produce a robust monitoring and communication device that connect patients, carers and health professionals.
The Nightingale project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 727534.
