The Nightingale H2020 project is temporarily suspended while we treat COVID-19 pandemic patients in our critical care units and wards. Meanwhile, our two industry partner finalists are still working hard to fine-tune their systems:
Emfit’s order book has never been so full, with their manufacturing running at full steam.
Checkpoint Cardio systems are already deployed in COVID-19 wards in four Bulgarian hospitals, and in a Romanian tele-medical centre serving quarantined patients at home. A further five monitoring centres in Romania are soon to be set up in a nationwide programme of remote observation of COVID-19 patients, with hospitals in Poland and other countries also to be supplied in the coming weeks.
In addition, our own clinicians have been innovating; Dave Brealey from UCLH could be seen on the BBC news demonstrating a new CPAP device developed with Mercedes that is now in mass production.
